Angel Bermudez

My name is Angel Bermudez, and I was born and raised in Southern California. I am a 47-year-old nevus owner. I have the best of both worlds, with partial removal. I have annin tact scalp nevus, covering 3/4 of my head. From the age of 5 to 17, I have had 20-plus surgeries. I've had my nevus removed from my right cheek, forehead, right ear & back portion of my neck. I also had my right ear downsized to a normal size, as at birth, my ear came down to my shoulders & as an infant, I was unable to lift my head, as the ear was too heavy. I have lumps that grow in under my nevus. In 2013, I had to have a biopsy that, due to its location on my scalp, required me to shave my head, bald. So far, each biopsy has come back benign.

In 2017 I found out that I have a lesion on my brain, causing seizures. I am not sure if it is nevus related, but I've had seizures for a long time, not knowing that's what I was experiencing, prior to 2017. My seizures are not the convulsing type. I forget where I am, don't know where I am in familiar places & draw a blank often. Dermatologist says just to monitor. If things get worse, that lesion will need to be removed. I also have vestibular migraines. VM are dizzy spells that control my days. I was also missing a bone in my head, so doctors removed a rib & placed it in my head. I have a metal plate in my head to protect that portion. I try to live my life to the fullest as often & much as I can, as some of these things limit me. I enjoy spending time with my closest friends, going to Knotts Berry Farm when time permits, just to walk around and people watch. I recently took an accelerated course August 15th - September 18th 2023 for Medical Billing and Coding and have been working in this field since November 2023 & I genuinely love it.
